In 2016, Family Care International's mission, lifesaving programs, and long record of achievement will be carried forward by the FCI Program of Management Sciences for Health (MSH)a non-profit global health organization that has worked in more than 100 countries for more than forty years to strengthen health systems and improve the quality, availability, and affordability of health services. The FCI Program of MSH team will build on FCI’s nearly 30-year history of effective advocacy for improved reproductive, maternal, newborn, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) at the global, country, and community levels, and FCI will wind down its operations as an independent non-profit organization.

Family Care International was one of only 13 extraordinary nonprofit organizations around the world selected to receive the 2013 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions.This prestigious award represented the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation's recognition of FCI's achievements and the impact of our work. What Your Support Can Do

$5,000 educates 30 girls in a rural African village about their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

$1,000 teaches the women of an indigenous community high in the Andes to demand the safe, sensitive maternity care that can save their lives.

$500 supports the transformation of a dysfunctional rural clinic into one that provides high-quality, life- saving maternal care for women in its community.

$250 pays for a community organizer to work with a remote West African village for 3 months - building relationships with community leaders and providing information about women's right to lifesaving maternity care.

$100 trains one health care worker to understand local cultures and provide better, more sensitive care - so that more women will use life- saving health services.

$50 provides FCI's youth education handbooks - accurate, culturally appropriate, and in the local languages - for 12 communities in Latin America, Africa or the Caribbean.
